.44 and .22 Cartridges
The picture below gives some idea of the different physical sizes of the .44 Magnum centrefire and the .22 rimfire cartridge. The .44 is loaded with a 240 grain semi-wadcutter bullet and the .22 with a 40 grain round nose. Whilst the .44 can be used at ranges up to 300 yards the .22 is really limited to 100 and even then is very subject to wind disturbance. Both rounds are shot at the Club.
Note that a bullet is just the projectile, the whole round being called a cartridge, to talk of, 'live bullets' as happens occasionally in the press, is nonsense.
